Spongebob Birthday Party Cookies

Prepare these adorable and delicious cookies for a Spongebob-themed birthday party These cookies are the perfect addition to your party spread and will make everyone smile.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Red food coloring
  • Black food coloring
  • White royal icing
  • Assorted colored royal icing for decorations

Instructions:

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt

In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined

Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms

Divide the dough into three portions

Color one portion with yellow food coloring, another with red, and the last one with black

Wrap each colored dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Take a small amount of each colored dough and roll them into thin ropes

Arrange the ropes side by side, pressing lightly to stick them together

Use a knife to cut out Spongebob-shaped cookies from the dough, using a template if needed

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden

Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack

Once the cookies are cool, use white royal icing to pipe the eyes and teeth

Use colored royal icing to add details like Spongebobs tie, pants, and facial features

Let the icing set before serving or storing the cookies
