Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined
Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using
Chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle
Roll the chilled dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then roll them in powdered sugar to coat
Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft in the center
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
